Introduction
World-class cinema meets regional creativity
Rooted in the rich historical and cultural heritage of Nanded, this festival is dedicated to bringing world-class cinema to local audiences while fostering a vibrant film culture across Maharashtra.
Our vision is to create a dynamic platform where global cinematic excellence meets regional creativity — inspiring meaningful cultural exchange and artistic growth. The festival seeks to open the doors of international cinema to passionate audiences, filmmakers, students, film enthusiasts, and emerging artists from the Marathwada region.
By showcasing outstanding films from around the world alongside exceptional Indian and regional cinema, we aim to provide an enriching cinematic experience while nurturing local talent and encouraging new voices in filmmaking.

About Nanded
A cultural city, a new home for cinema
Nanded, in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra, is a city with a rich cultural and educational life and a deep appreciation for storytelling, music, and the arts. It is home to institutions such as Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, giving it a lively community of students and young creators.
NIFF brings international and regional cinema to this audience — turning Nanded into a meeting point where films from around the world share the same screen with the best of Marathi and Indian filmmaking.
Cultural Heritage
A district rich in history
The district's rich heritage is reflected in its ancient temples and religious sites, historic forts, centuries-old inscriptions, and the renowned Malegaon Yatra — one of India's largest traditional fairs.
Complementing this cultural wealth are prestigious institutions such as Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, which have established Nanded as a leading educational and commercial hub of the Marathwada region.
Festival Philosophy
Cinema as the universal language
The festival aspires to become a significant cultural landmark — celebrating the universal language of cinema, promoting artistic excellence, encouraging dialogue across cultures, and providing emerging filmmakers with an international platform to showcase their creativity.
By connecting local talent with global perspectives, the festival aims to contribute meaningfully to the growth of cinema and the cultural landscape of Maharashtra.
